Sodomy Gods

Reprint due on 10-17-2024 Raw, provocative, and unflinchingly honest, Sodomy Gods is the coming-of-age story of David Lauterstein, a young gay man finding his way in the dizzying world of 1990s New York City. From coming out amidst the devastation of the AIDS crisis, to falling in love and launching the iconic queer fashion brand Nasty Pig, David's journey is one of self-discovery, resilience and the revolutionary power of queer identity and community. His path takes readers across various subcultures, through moments of activist rage, and into today's White House. The stories he shares comprise a time capsule of daunting challenges and unexpected triumphs. Both a searing cultural commentary and a tender love story, Sodomy Gods pulses with the energy of the club scene, sparkles with David's signature wit, and inspires with the message that one's truth, no matter how uncomfortable or transgressive, is always worth fighting for. Poignant, erotic, and brimming with hard-won wisdom, David's story announces a bold new voice in queer storytelling.   David Lauterstein is among the most influential forces in queer culture, celebrated as an unapologetic champion for sex-positivity since co-founding the iconic Nasty Pig fashion brand in 1994. As its CEO, he has been honored for his trailblazing entrepreneurship, his philanthropic efforts supporting homeless queer youth, and by the White House for his decades of public health advocacy. A formally trained poet and house music producer, Lauterstein resides in New York City with his husband and Nasty Pig co-founder, Frederick Kearney. Sodomy Gods is his first book.
