Sodium Phytate

Sodium Phytate is a gentle, plant-derived chelating agent naturally sourced from rice bran. Used to enhance the stability, clarity, and overall performance of cosmetic formulations, Sodium Phytate binds with metal ions that can otherwise compromise product integrity or degrade sensitive ingredients. It offers a clean, biodegradable alternative to synthetic chelators like EDTA, making it especially valuable in natural, organic, and eco-conscious skincare and haircare products. Key Benefits of Sodium Phytate: Chelation and Formula Stability: Sodium Phytate helps prevent discoloration, rancidity, and pH drift by binding trace metal ions that can catalyze degradation reactions in formulations. Supports Preservative Systems: By improving formulation stability and reducing free metal ions, Sodium Phytate can enhance the efficacy of preservative systems and extend product shelf life. Biodegradable and Eco-Friendly: Derived from natural sources and readily biodegradable, Sodium Phytate is ideal for formulators seeking safer, environmentally responsible alternatives to EDTA and other petrochemical-based chelators. Broad Compatibility: Functions effectively across a wide range of pH levels and formulation types, including serums, lotions, shampoos, cleansers, and emulsions. Clean Beauty Approved: Suitable for natural and organic cosmetics, Sodium Phytate aligns with clean beauty standards and is often accepted in formulations certified by COSMOS, Ecocert, and similar organizations. Suggested Formulations: Sodium Phytate is a versatile addition to any formulation requiring metal ion control—particularly in water-based systems and emulsions where stability and clarity are essential. It’s commonly used in facial serums, gels, moisturizers, shampoos, and conditioners. Sustainable Performance with a Purpose: Sodium Phytate offers formulators a high-performing, plant-based solution to enhance product stability without compromising on sustainability. With growing demand for clean and natural formulations, it’s the ideal choice for brands looking to create safe, effective, and environmentally conscious products.
