This Soaring Eagle was carved from a beautiful pink shell by Daphne Quam. It was carved in such a way that the beak is part of the inside of the shell. It has inlaid turquoise eyes and is quite something! More about eagles below. Size: 3.25" L x .5" H x 3" W The eagle is the most sacred of all the raptors since it sees the furthest and flies the highest. It is considered as a messenger to take our prayers to the Creator. In Zuni Pueblo, eagles are also the guardians of the sky world. Traditionally, Zuni carvings are symbolically fed cornmeal. Each Zuni fetish comes in a box with a descriptive card and a tiny bit of corn meal to tide them over until they reach you.
