Soada - Vintage Medallion Rug - 5'6 X 8'10

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones, this grey vintage rug offers a refined aesthetic. About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments that reference mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving traditions. Distressed rugs utilise specific surface treatments to mimic age, including selectively faded zones or erased pile that reveals the base structure, often achieved through an overdyed finish that leaves ghost traces of the original pattern. Medallion rugs feature a dominant central motif—circular, diamond, or oval—while floral designs incorporate botanical motifs like vines and blossoms, both of which are hallmarks of historical Turkish carpet composition. Where It Works The flatwoven construction makes this rug suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, living rooms, and dining spaces. Its profile is layering-friendly, allowing for placement over larger rugs, and it remains underfloor-heating safe due to its thin, durable composition. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a classic medallion centrepiece framed by intricate floral motifs, rendered in a muted grey palette with authentic distressed character. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, ensuring a soft-touch feel while providing the moisture resistance and strength required for everyday use. — The flatwoven construction ensures the rug lies perfectly flat against the floor, preventing trip hazards and remaining ideal for high-traffic environments. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — A versatile, no-shed design that is fully reversible, offering extended utility and consistent performance in busy home settings.
