Snapping Turtle Pottery Plate

Invite the woodland into your dining room with my original hand carved dinner plates featuring snapping turtles.  Transform your home into a natural refuge from hectic modern life: one piece of hand-built pottery at a time.   I designed these to honor the snapping turtles I see on my walks by Turtle Creek here in Beloit.  I hand build these stoneware ceramic plates (instead of throwing them on a potter's wheel) which creates their natural shapes.  I make my pottery this way because this is how I make my ceramic sculptures and because I wanted to make plates that felt like they had grown into being pottery instead of having been made into plates. Food, Microwave and Dishwasher Safe Measures approximately 8" in diameter.  This is a stock photo. Since this is hand built pottery, every plate is unique.
