Snapmaker U1 - Multi-Toolhead Multi-Color Printer with Fast Changes and Minimal Waste

These are in-stock and shipping! The Snapmaker U1 is the multi-color 3D printer for makers who want more color, more material options, and a lot less waste. Built around Snapmaker’s SnapSwap™ 4-toolhead system, the U1 swaps between preloaded, preheated toolheads instead of constantly purging filament through a single nozzle. That means cleaner multi-color prints, faster material changes, and dramatically less “printer poop” compared with many traditional filament-changing systems. Snapmaker lists tool changes at about 5 seconds, with the U1 designed around “5X speed” and “5X less waste” messaging for fast, efficient color printing. With a generous 270 × 270 × 270 mm build volume, CoreXY motion system, automatic bed leveling, textured PEI flexible build plate, and speeds up to 500 mm/s with acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s², the Snapmaker U1 is built for serious hobbyists, print farms, educators, and small businesses that want approachable multi-material printing without stepping into industrial toolchanger pricing.   Key Features 4-toolhead multi-color printing Print up to four colors or materials with dedicated toolheads, reducing purge waste and making multi-color printing cleaner and more practical. SnapSwap™ fast tool changing Instead of long purge cycles, the U1 swaps toolheads quickly, helping reduce downtime and filament waste during color or material changes. Multi-material flexibility Use different materials for different jobs, including combinations like PLA, PETG, TPU, PVA, and support materials. Snapmaker highlights the U1’s ability to use PETG or PVA-style support strategies with reduced purge waste. CoreXY speed and precision The U1 supports speeds up to 500 mm/s and acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s², with dimensional accuracy listed up to ±0.1 mm. Large build volume The 270 × 270 × 270 mm print area gives you room for functional parts, display models, multi-color projects, and production runs. Automatic bed leveling and PEI build plate Auto leveling and a flexible PEI build surface help simplify setup, improve adhesion, and make part removal easier. Modern connectivity and touchscreen control The U1 includes Wi-Fi/LAN/USB connectivity and a 3.5-inch color touchscreen interface according to published review specs.
