Smith & Nephew AlgiSite M Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing, Sterile, 6" x 8"

Smith & Nephew AlgiSite M Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing, 6 x 8 InchThe AlgiSite M Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing is designed for the management of moderate to highly exuding wounds, including pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and surgical wounds. Made from soft, non-woven calcium alginate fibers, this 6 x 8 inch rectangular dressing interacts with wound exudate to form a soft, cohesive gel that helps maintain a moist wound healing environment while protecting delicate new tissue. Unlike many fiber-based alginate dressings, AlgiSite M uses an advanced bonding technology that significantly reduces fiber shedding during handling and removal, helping to minimize disruption to the wound bed. As the fibers absorb fluid and gel, the dressing maintains close, even contact with the wound surface, supporting an optimal environment for healing without adhering to fragile granulating tissue. Highly conformable, this alginate dressing can be molded, folded, or cut to fit irregular wound shapes and varying wound sizes, making it a versatile choice for clinicians and caregivers managing complex wounds. With the ability to absorb up to 13 times its own weight in exudate, AlgiSite M can typically remain in place for up to seven days, depending on wound condition and drainage volume, reducing the frequency of dressing changes and supporting patient comfort. Trusted by wound care professionals, this calcium alginate dressing from Smith & Nephew offers a reliable, easy-to-use option for effective absorption and gentle wound management.
