What does the Vive Precision smart pulse oximeter do? The finger pulse oximeter’s primary function is to measure oxygen saturation in an individual's blood. Oxygen saturation indicates how much oxygen is being carried in the bloodstream for use throughout the body. In addition to SpO2 (oxygen saturation), the device also records the pulse rate and acts as a pedometer by tracking steps taken and estimating calories burned. Who needs to check their oxygen saturation levels with a pulse oximeter? Pulse oximeters are useful for a variety of individuals including athletes, climbers, hikers and aviators as well as those suffering from asthma, COPD and congestive heart failure. How do I use my new pulse oximeter? Be sure that the testing finger is clean as well as the finger sensor pad on your pulse oximeter. Rest your arm on a flat surface and open the clamp to insert the test finger into the device. Press the power button and hold still while measurements are being taken. Results will then be displayed on the OLED screen and transferred to a connected device. Can this oximeter be used to continually collect readings over a long period of time? Yes, our finger pulse oximeter is designed to take readings as long as the product is attached to your finger, however, our battery-saving automatic shutdown feature will shut-down the oximeter after 10 seconds of inactivity. Excessive user movement may also cause inaccurate readings. Can I connect this oximeter to my smartphone or tablet? Yes! The smart pulse oximeter is wirelessly enabled, connecting via the Vive Precision app which is available for both iOS and Android devices. Will the pulse oximeter store my results? Historical data can be viewed with the Vive Precision app on your iOS or Android device. How can I clean the rubber padding inside of the oximeter? We recommend using a medical-grade alcohol swab or wipe to clean the rubber sensor pad where you insert your finger. We also suggest cleaning the test finger with rubbing alcohol before collecting your readings. What is the best way to maintain my pulse oximeter? To maintain the life of your oximeter, store it in a dry area as extreme humidity or moisture may compromise the device. Also, avoid exposure to direct sunlight. If you will not be using your oximeter often, remove batteries to avoid corrosion. Will this be accurate while I’m walking or moving? For the most accurate results, it is best to remain still, ensuring the finger is still, not shaking. Can I use this for tracking my sleep apnea? No, the pulse oximeter features an automatic shut-off after ten seconds of inactivity. Will I have the ability to turn off the alarm for low oxygen levels? Yes, the pulse oximeter allows you to adjust the display and audible alerts. How do I adjust the display mode settings? To access the settings, press and hold the button using it to also select new setting options. What type of batteries does it use? The pulse oximeter uses two AAA batteries. Your first set is included with the finger pulse oximeter. What is the maximum pulse rate that will register? Pulse rates displayed will range from 25 bpm to 250 bpm. Is this device just for spot checking? Yes, the pulse oximeter is designed for spot checking blood oxygen levels. Will this work on cold fingers? Yes, readings can be taken on cold fingertips. Can I use it with nail polish on? Yes, it can be used while wearing nail polish, however, dark colors, acrylic nails and other nail accessories will skew results. Can it be used on a young child? Yes, the pulse oximeter is suitable for all ages. Does it have a low battery light? Yes, the display includes a low battery indicator. What are the dimensions?
