Bordallo Pinheiro OVAL CABBAGE PLATTER

Bordallo Pinheiro OVAL CABBAGE PLATTER Cabbage Collection      The Cabbage Collection by Bordallo Pinheiro is a masterful creation that blends the beauty of nature with the artistry of Portuguese craftsmanship. Known for his love of incorporating elements from the natural world into his designs, Bordallo Pinheiro uses the cabbage as both a symbol of rustic life and a statement piece that challenges traditional notions of luxury.    Historically, cabbage was a staple in the rural diet of Portugal and rarely seen at the tables of the elite. Bordallo Pinheiro, with his characteristic sense of humor and social commentary, elevated this humble vegetable into an exquisite, sculptural ceramic form. The cabbage, with its deep ridges and intricate leaf patterns, was designed to represent the simplicity and rustic charm of rural Portugal, while humorously claiming a spot among the finer dinnerware of the bourgeoisie.    Each piece is hand-painted and meticulously crafted to capture the true essence of a cabbage’s form, with vibrant green hues and delicate shading that emphasize its organic nature. The textured detailing on the leaves adds dimension and realism, making the cabbage a dynamic focal point for any dining table or display.    These pieces are more than just tableware; they are a conversation starter and a tribute to Bordallo Pinheiro’s ability to combine functionality with artistry. Whether used as an elegant serving dish or as a decorative object, the Cabbage Collection adds a touch of whimsical sophistication to any space.   Oval Cabbage Platter Collection: Cabbage Color: Verde Piece Type: Platter Product Type: Earthenware Size: Large: SKU 65000748: 14" x 18"   Height: 30.00mm Length: 430.00mm Weight: 1.714kg Weight Raw: 1.885 Width: 320.00mm Small: SKU: 65000752: 10.5" x 15"  Height: 35.00mm Length: 375.00mm Weight: 0.940kg Weight Raw: 1.130 Width: 260.00mm Brand: Bordallo Pinheiro
