Slumber

Slumber is Alma Coffee's answer to the question: can decaf coffee be genuinely complex and delicious? Sourced from the family-owned Selva Negra farm in Nicaragua and processed using pure mountain water instead of harsh chemicals, this light-roasted decaf proves that giving up caffeine doesn't mean sacrificing flavor. Alma's commitment to freshness shows—Selva Negra warehouses their decaf just miles from Alma's Georgia roastery, ensuring you get beans at their peak. Tasting NotesSlumber surprises with its layered complexity. Expect bright notes of red apple and honey in the aroma, followed by a smooth body with hints of caramel, toasted almond, and a whisper of citrus zest. The acidity is gentle and balanced—present enough to keep things lively without overwhelming the cup. The finish is clean and slightly sweet, lingering just long enough to remind you why you reached for another cup. This is decaf that doesn't taste like compromise. Brew MethodsSlumber's lighter roast profile makes it particularly versatile. It shines in pour over methods like V60 or Chemex, where its nuanced fruit and nut notes can fully express themselves. The mountain water process preserves enough body that it also performs well in French press, delivering a rounder, more comforting cup. While not specifically developed for espresso, adventurous home baristas can pull interesting shots with slightly coarser grinds and adjusted ratios. Auto-drip machines work beautifully—this is an everyday decaf that rewards attention but doesn't demand it. About the RoasterAlma Coffee built their reputation on direct relationships with family farms and an obsession with freshness. When they couldn't decaffeinate their own beans without compromising quality, they found Selva Negra—a kindred-spirit farm that shares their values and happens to warehouse minutes from Alma's roastery.
