Sleeping Between Winged and Deciduous Trees

In Sleeping Between Winged and Deciduous Trees - Andrius Miezis blends humor, surrealism, and tenderness into a dreamlike domestic scene. A large, angelic figure turns toward the viewer, cigarette in hand, its gaze both weary and knowing. The tiny sleeping figure in the background feels fragile beneath the watch of this celestial guardian, while the sparse potted trees create a sense of calm absurdity. The image plays with contrasts - the sacred and the mundane, the divine and the human, the monumental and the miniature. Miezis transforms the angel from a symbol of perfection into a figure of flawed empathy, exhausted yet still watching over the quiet world. In Sleeping Between Winged and Deciduous Trees, Miezis reminds us that transcendence often hides in imperfection - and that even angels might need a smoke break between their earthly duties.
