In Sleeping Beauty - Andrius Miezis reimagines the fairy-tale heroine through a surreal, introspective lens. The face fills the canvas, suspended between dream and consciousness. Snails, ladybugs, and a yellow fish traverse her features like quiet thoughts in motion, blending life and stillness. The scribbled phrases, geometric lines, and childlike markings evoke both innocence and disarray - a diary of the subconscious. Miezis turns beauty into a site of reflection and vulnerability rather than perfection. The soft grays and muted tones, interrupted by bursts of color, suggest the thin boundary between sleep and awakening - between memory and imagination. Sleeping Beauty becomes a meditation on stillness and transformation. Through subtle surrealism, the work redefines beauty as something fragile and alive - a dream suspended between awareness and forgetting, where imagination and memory quietly blur into one another.
