Slava!

Slava! Slavic Paganism and Dual-Faith Folk Ways By Anna Urošević Applegate | Foreword by Fio Gede Parma | Contributions by Natasa Ilincic Slava! explores the living traditions of Slavic Paganism, folk magic, ancestor veneration, and Dual-Faith practices rooted in Eastern European culture. Drawing from her Serbian American heritage and decades of devotional practice, priestess and vračara Anna Urošević Applegate introduces readers to Slavic cosmology and the relationships between deities, ancestors, nature spirits, and the household. Particular attention is given to Dual-Faith traditions, in which older Pagan practices and beliefs exist alongside elements of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Readers are introduced to deities including Perun and Veles, as well as the spirits believed to inhabit forests, fields, and homes. Practical material provides ways to establish altars, honor ancestors through traditional forms of veneration, work with Slavic folk magic, and develop devotional relationships with the gods and spirits. The book also follows the seasonal cycle through the Slavic Wheel of the Year, offering rituals and practices connected with traditional observances throughout the year.
