Southern Living® Skyscraper® Senecio

Add Vertical Interest with Tall Blue-Green Succulents The Southern Living® Skyscraper® Senecio brings bold vertical beauty to succulent gardens and container arrangements. With its upright form and thick, chalky blue-green foliage, this unique variety adds striking texture and color contrast to any space. In just one growing season, it can reach an impressive 2–3 feet tall, without staking or support. Its naturally columnar habit makes it ideal for tight spaces, patio containers, or as a dramatic structural accent among spreading succulents and lower-growing groundcovers. The Skyscraper® Senecio is also exceptionally heat- and drought-tolerant. This plant delivers lasting impact with very little maintenance. It resists deer and disease, and its fleshy leaves store moisture, making it an ideal choice for low-water landscapes. Plus, it transitions easily to indoor spaces, where it can be grown as a houseplant in bright light. The Skyscraper® Senecio is perfect for gardeners looking to add height and texture to their plantings without the fuss. This distinctive succulent is a statement piece that stands out all year long—grow yours today! Planting & Care 1. Planting: Choose a spot with full sun - part shade (4-6 hours of sunlight daily) and well-drained soil. For containers, use a cactus or succulent mix. Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball and plant at the same soil level. Backfill and water thoroughly. 2. Watering: Allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Avoid overwatering as succulents are sensitive to soggy roots. In containers, ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot. 3. Fertilizing:  Feed lightly in spring with a diluted succulent fertilizer. 4. Pruning:  Minimal pruning is needed. Remove any damaged or leggy stems to maintain shape.
