Sky-Watcher Evostar 150DX 150mm Apochomatic Refractor Optical Tube S11195

The Sky-Watcher Evostar 150DX is one of the most affordable 6" ED doublet refractors available today with a large format rack and pinion focuser. Sky-Watcher Evostar 150DX APO Refractor Highlights 150mm (6") apochomatic doublet lens assembly using one ED element 1200mm Focal Length Dual speed 3.4" Rack and Pinion focuser Split Tube Rings with Losmandy Style Dovetail The Sky-Watcher Evostar 150DX APO is a giant step forward in affordable pricing without compromising quality.  The DX takes a 6" ED doublet lens and finishes the tube out with high end touches that astronomers want.  A tube of this size really needs a strong connection to your mount.  The 150DX has you covered.  Gone are the nice cast rings and vixen style dovetail plate. They are replaced by thick CNC machined tube rings and an extremely sturdy 4" wide Losmandy style dovetail plate to keep flexture at an absolute minimum. The tube connection isn't the only thing that gets an upgrade.  The 2" crayford focuser has been replaced by a 3.4" dual speed rack and pinion focuser.  This focuser not only allows fine precision, but it is able to hold more weight so your imaging trains will be more stable.  The unimpeded light path from the 3.4" focuser will pass as much light as possible to the eyepiece or camera.  Have no fear, a 2" eyepiece adapter is included with the scope so your 2" diagonal will have a way to connect.Sky-Watcher’s Evostar apochromatic doublet refractors are the perfect blend of superior extra-low dispersion glass and affordability. The Evostar refractor lens assembly utilizes a proprietary combination of matched lenses, delivering tack-sharp stars with charcoal-black, contrast-rich skies. All ED glass elements are fluorite-based and feature our proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings™ (MHTC™), virtually eliminating all false color while triple-baffles prevent stray light from affecting your photography. Like the optics, the tube is beautifully crafted using aluminum and finished with a black diamond metal-flake finish. Using a doublet refractor instead of a triplet has some advantages: less glass means less weight, less weight means a less expensive telescope, so you can dedicate more money for your camera or laptop while benefiting from a lightweight astrophotography rig. To protect your investment, Sky-Watcher includes a heavy duty aluminum carry case with the Evostar 150DX.
