Sky Racer / Automatic

Reference HF Series                                                                                                                   The Sky Racer chronograph watch was engineered around the SL4617 automatic chronograph movement, a modern integrated mechanical chronograph designed to deliver dependable performance and everyday durability. Often compared to the ETA / Valjoux 7750, the SL4617 follows a similar philosophy: a robust, no-nonsense automatic chronograph architecture optimized for reliability, serviceability, and consistent operation. While the 7750 is widely regarded as the industry benchmark for integrated automatic chronographs, the SL4617 offers a contemporary alternative that prioritizes functional equivalence over heritage branding. It provides the familiar chronograph layout, solid winding efficiency, and dependable timekeeping expected by enthusiasts, making it well suited for aviation-inspired and tool-watch chronographs. The Sky Racer houses this movement within a bold cushion-case chronograph design, paired with a clean, functional panda dial elevated by an unexpected sandpaper-textured finish. Thoughtfully executed details throughout the case and dial reinforce the watch’s purpose-driven design. Drawing inspiration from classic aviation chronographs, the Sky Racer blends mechanical credibility, tool-watch functionality, and modern microbrand design innovation into a distinctive and mechanically honest chronograph. Why SL4617 Instead of a 7750? The SL4617 automatic chronograph movement delivers the same core benefits enthusiasts associate with the ETA / Valjoux 7750—an integrated chronograph design, robust construction, and reliable everyday performance—without the cost premium tied to heritage branding. By choosing the SL4617, we were able to focus resources on case construction, dial execution, and overall build quality, resulting in a better-balanced chronograph at this price point. For wearers, the experience is straightforward: solid mechanical performance, dependable chronograph operation, and long-term serviceability, without paying extra for a name on the movement bridge.   • Movement: Peacock SL4617 (7750 clone).
