The Flavor Journey Taste your way across Brazil’s celebrated coffee lands in two distinct expressions. The Espírito Santo single-origin offers precision and elegance: floral aromatics drift into honey and peach, grounded by a clean washed profile. The premium blend widens the lens-lush chocolate and nuts carry the palate, while hints of red fruit and baked apple lend dimension. Together, they form a thoughtful pairing: one celebrates high-definition terroir; the other delivers comforting sweetness and everyday versatility. Craftsmanship and Sourcing Black Tucano’s approach reflects a commitment to quality from farm to roast. At Sítio Bom Destino, producer Josiane Lima Bissoli cultivates Yellow Catucaí 2SL at 900 meters, carefully selecting and washing the cherries to preserve clarity. In Mantiqueira de Minas and Serra do Paredão, multigenerational producers steward Yellow Catuaí and Mundo Novo at 920–1,200 meters, applying natural and controlled fermentation methods that deepen sweetness and complexity. Each coffee in this kit has earned an SCA score above 86, signaling the attention to detail, ripeness, and processing precision behind every lot. Roasted with restraint and intention, these coffees showcase their inherent character without overshadowing it. The medium roast on the Single Origin unlocks floral aromatics and a juicy peach-like finish that shines in both filter and espresso. The Premium Blend’s profile is tuned for balance-medium to full body, medium-low acidity, and a chocolate-forward sweetness that holds beautifully across manual brewers and traditional coffee makers. Brewing Versatility Pour-Over (V60, Kalita, Origami): Aim for a 1:16 ratio. Expect the Single Origin to present bright florals and honeyed sweetness; the Premium Blend will emphasize cocoa, caramel, and a touch of red fruit. Batch Brewer: A consistent, clean cup. The Single Origin shines with clarity; the Blend offers crowd-pleasing chocolate and nut tones. French Press: Use a coarser grind and a 4-minute steep. The Blend’s medium-full body creates a plush mouthfeel, while the Single Origin brings lift and aromatics. AeroPress: Explore shorter brews for syrupy sweetness or longer dilutions for clarity. Both coffees reward experimentation. Espresso: The Single Origin’s medium roast supports bright, sweet shots with peach and honey highlights. The Blend can yield a chocolatey shot with gentle acidity-excellent for cappuccinos and cortados. For the freshest results, grind just before brewing. Start with filtered water at 195–205°F, and adjust grind size and ratios to dial in sweetness, body, and clarity. Small tweaks reveal new layers in both coffees-another hallmark of well-sourced, well-roasted specialty coffee.
