Think caramel and cocoa framed by red fruit brightness-familiar yet elevated. It shines in drip machines, Chemex, batch brew, and moka pot, and holds its own as a syrupy espresso that pairs beautifully with milk. A Flavor Journey Across Process and Place The Discovery Kit is designed to let you taste how origin, elevation, and processing shape the cup. The washed single-origin brings crystalline aromatics and high-toned sweetness; the honey coffee deepens fruit and body with a velvety feel; the blended selection rounds out the set with cacao-rich warmth and caramelized sugars. Together, they map a satisfying arc-from floral and bright to lush and cozy-so you can explore preference by palate, method, and mood. Craft, Freshness, and Traceability Each coffee is sourced from dedicated producers and small lots where careful picking and processing protect the integrity of the fruit. Black Tucano’s roast approach is adaptive-calibrated to highlight origin character and tactile sweetness rather than overwhelm nuance. Transparency of farm, variety, altitude, and process ensures traceability you can taste: cleaner cups, steadier extraction, and a dependable platform for honing your brewing technique at home. Brewing Tips to Unlock Each Profile For Filter (V60/Chemex/Kalita): Start at a 1:16 ratio (e.g., 25g coffee to 400g water) with 200–205°F water. Aim for 2:45–3:15 total time for the washed single-origin to preserve florals and peach. For the honey process, a slightly finer grind and a 3:00–3:30 drawdown can amplify raspberry and honeyed body. The premium coffee blend prefers a medium grind and steady, even pours for a chocolate-caramel finish. For Espresso: Start around 1:2 brew ratio in 26–32 seconds. The washed lot rewards a tighter shot for clarity and rapadura sweetness; the honey lot takes a touch longer for syrupy texture; the blend is forgiving and delicious in milk-try a 1:2.2 ratio for milk chocolate and caramel. For French Press/Immersion: 1:15 ratio, coarse grind, 4 minutes steep plus a gentle stir and 1-minute settle. Expect plush, rounded cups: floral-honey depth from the washed coffee, juicy molasses from the honey lot, and cocoa-nut richness from the blend. Water Matters: Use filtered water around 70–120 ppm hardness to let delicate aromatics shine-especially important for the single-origin coffee’s floral and peach notes.
