Craft, Origin, and Process This trio is a study in Brazilian excellence from farm to roastery. Sourced by Black Tucano Coffee Roasters from trusted partners and family-run farms, each lot is handled with care-handpicked at peak ripeness, processed with precision, and curated for distinctive character. The single-origin coffee from Sítio Bom Destino (900 m) showcases Yellow Catucaí 2SL, washed to emphasize clarity and a floral-honey bouquet with peach tones. In contrast, the premium coffee blend merges celebrated terroirs-Mantiqueira de Minas and Serra do Paredão-uniting Yellow Catuaí and Mundo Novo. Fermented and natural lots add layers of chocolate, caramel, and red fruit, yielding a plush, approachable cup with medium-low acidity. The third component is your showstopper: a fruity coffee fermented at 850 m from the same Espírito Santo lineage. Catuaí 81 shines with strawberry and raspberry notes draped in honeyed molasses, earning a score above 89 points. Together, these coffees reveal how variety, altitude, and processing can transform 100% Arabica into three distinctive expressions-each roasted to a sweet, balanced medium to perform across filter and espresso. Flavor Journey and Brewing Versatility For Pour-Over and Filter Methods Across V60, Kalita, Chemex, or automatic drip, these coffees offer clarity and sweetness: Single Origin: Clean and perfumed, the washed process lifts delicate florals and honey. Expect a silky texture and refined specialty coffee sweetness reminiscent of peach and rapadura. Premium Blend: A daily driver with comfort and complexity-milk chocolate and caramel with a ribbon of red fruit. Medium to full body settles beautifully in larger brews or a morning mug. Fruity: Lush and layered, a modern fermented profile packed with strawberry and raspberry. Excellent for slow pours that highlight aromatic intensity and syrupy sweetness. Suggested starting point: 1:16 brew ratio, filtered water around 200°F (93°C), medium grind. Adjust grind finer for more sweetness and structure; coarser for brighter, lighter cups. For Espresso The kit’s medium roasts make dialing in straightforward while preserving origin nuance. The washed single-origin pulls as a fragrant shot with honeyed sweetness and a whisper of peach, inspiring exceptional Americanos and cortados. The premium coffee blend’s chocolate, caramel, and cocoa provide a classic foundation for cappuccinos and lattes without losing definition. If you enjoy fruit-forward extractions, the fruity coffee brings strawberry and molasses into bold, modern shots. Try a 1:2 ratio in 28–32 seconds and adjust to taste for your machine and water. Sustainability, Traceability, and Quality Every bag in this coffee kit is transparently sourced and scored by SCA standards-86+ and above-ensuring cup quality that reflects meticulous farming and post-harvest work. Black Tucano partners closely with producers like Josiane Lima Bissoli and Lima Bassoli, along with the families behind the blend’s celebrated regions. Thoughtful processing-from washed clarity to natural and controlled fermentation-respects the land while amplifying flavor. Small-batch roasting brings each lot to its sweet spot, preserving aromatics and delivering balance without overdevelopment. Who This Kit Is For Drinkers seeking to explore Brazilian terroirs through single-origin, blend, and fruity coffee profiles. Home baristas who alternate between filter and espresso and want a versatile lineup. Gifting occasions where quality, craftsmanship, and story matter.
