At Sítio Bom Destino, attention to detail begins at the tree: selective picking ensures only ripe cherries move forward. The washed lot emphasizes clarity and refined sweetness, while the controlled fermentation of the Fruity lot builds vivid aromatics and a plush structure. This transparent sourcing supports responsible farming practices and honors the craft of producers who steward their land and legacy with care. Brewing Guidance for Your Best Cup Thoughtful brewing reveals each lot’s intent. Use fresh, filtered water around 200°F (93°C), weigh your dose, and adjust grind for flow and taste. Here are starting points to help you dial in: Single-Origin (Filter): 1:16 ratio (e.g., 25g coffee to 400g water), medium-fine grind. Aim for a 2:45–3:15 total brew time. Expect floral aromatics, clear honey sweetness, and peach-like acidity. Single-Origin (Espresso): 18g in, about 36–40g out in 28–32 seconds. A medium grind should yield a syrupy, balanced shot-great on its own or as a delicate cappuccino. Fruity (Pour-Over): 1:16–1:17 ratio, medium grind. Keep your pour steady to preserve strawberry-raspberry clarity. A flat-bottom brewer can emphasize sweetness and molasses-like body. Fruity (Traditional Coffee Maker/Drip): Use your machine’s gold-cup setting if available. Aim for a medium grind and 55–60g/L for a plush, honeyed cup with jammy red-fruit notes. AeroPress or French Press: Both coffees shine with immersion. Try 15g to 240g water, 2–3 minutes steep, medium-coarse grind, and a gentle press for a round, sweet cup. Aroma, Flavor, and Texture The beauty of this duo lies in contrast and cohesion. The washed specialty coffee offers translucent sweetness-think blossoms overlaid with rapadura and gentle peach-while the fermented lot expands into jewel-toned fruit with strawberry and raspberry leading the way. Both center on honey-like richness, yet their paths diverge: one toward precision and lift, the other toward depth and velvet texture. Brew them side by side to experience how process shapes cup character from the same origin. Who This Kit Is For Home baristas seeking a single farm comparative tasting: washed vs. fermented. Filter lovers who crave clarity one day and fruit-saturated sweetness the next. Espresso enthusiasts who want a balanced shot from a medium-roasted single-origin. Gift givers looking for a thoughtful, farm-focused coffee experience. Roast Profile, Freshness, and Storage Both coffees are roasted to a thoughtful medium to balance sweetness, structure, and aromatic complexity. Allow whole beans to rest a few days off roast for peak solubility, and store them in an airtight container away from heat and light. Grind just before brewing to preserve fragrance and flavor detail-especially those delicate florals and berry notes. Why Black Tucano Black Tucano Coffee Roasters pursues precision and restraint-roasting to illuminate, not overshadow, origin character. From lot selection to roast development, the goal is a cup that feels honest and vivid. This kit underscores that philosophy: two meticulously sourced, small-batch Brazilian lots, each crafted to express place, process, and the hands that brought them to life. Bring the Experience Home Elevate your daily ritual with a coffee kit that bridges classic and contemporary Brazil.
