Leather Covered Segunda Pelham

The Leather Covered Segunda Pelham Bit features a stainless steel core wrapped in leather, providing strength while offering a softer surface than bare metal. The central port applies pressure to the palate, encouraging proper head elevation, while the mouthpiece maintains tongue contact to prevent leaning or bracing. Flat, non-abrasive stitching ensures the mouthpiece remains smooth and comfortable. Pelham cheekpieces provide additional leverage and curb pressure when needed while maintaining steady contact. Ideal for horses that require adjustable leverage, assisted head carriage, and respond better to a leather-covered bit than to a standard metal bit. Features of the Segunda Mouthpiece : Curved Central Mouthpiece : The distinctive port concentrates pressure on the bars and the palate when the reins are engaged, encouraging proper head carriage. Lifting Action : Focused pressure encourages the horse to lift its head, improving posture and responsiveness. Discourages Leaning : The design prevents the horse from leaning on the bit or placing its tongue over the mouthpiece, supporting correct mouth positioning. Pelham Design Features : Versatile Rein Options : The Pelham design allows for multiple rein placements, offering the rider flexibility in how much leverage they want to apply based on their riding situation. Balanced Leverage : The shanks of the Pelham provide balanced leverage, giving riders the option to gently lift the horse when needed while maintaining a soft, comfortable feel. Encourages Responsiveness : Even with the added leverage, the Pelham design helps horses remain responsive and engaged, promoting better communication between horse and rider.
