Simple Crab

The Simple Crab is a clean, effective flats crab pattern designed for anglers who want a realistic presentation without unnecessary bulk. Tied by Mac Flies on a #2 saltwater hook, this fly delivers a natural crab silhouette with subtle movement that excels in shallow water and pressured fisheries. Built to ride correctly and track naturally along the bottom, the Simple Crab imitates the defensive posture of a fleeing crab, making it highly effective when fish are keyed in on crustaceans. The streamlined profile allows for accurate casts and controlled presentations around grass, sand, and mixed-bottom flats. This pattern is a reliable choice for permit, redfish, and bonefish, particularly in clear water and calm conditions where fish demand a believable crab profile without excess flash or disturbance. Available color options include Tan, Blurple, White, and Black, covering a full range of visibility and bottom conditions.
