Silver Frost Cup

Intricate, abstract patterns emerge in Yumiko Katase’s elegant silver glazes. Adorning the masterly crafted porcelain pieces, the silver glaze invites you to find beauty in its organic patterns. The white porcelain has a velvety matte texture, and gently contrasts the subtle shine of the silver, giving a sophisticated look to this drinking vessel.   Each of Yumiko Katase’s porcelain pieces are a work of art and no two are alike. Because of their handmade nature, variations in the glazing and patterns can be expected. The silver glaze may oxidize over time and develop an iridescent sheen, which brings an unique aspect of change to these pieces.   About: Yumiko Katase Yumiko Katase is a ceramic artist based in Azumino, Nagano, where she runs her own studio and teaches ceramic classes.
