Vintage Sigi Pineda Taxco Jewelry | Modernist Brooch

Sigi Pineda's abstract modernist brooch exemplifies the restrained elegance that defined mid-century Mexican silver design. Crafted in Taxco between 1955 and 1980, this rarely encountered piece showcases Pineda's mastery of fluid, kinetic form—lines that seem to shift and flow across the surface. Pineda, a pivotal figure in Taxco's post-war silver renaissance, moved beyond decorative convention to explore geometry and negative space as compositional tools. His work bridges the gap between jewelry and sculpture, each piece a study in minimalist abstraction. The fully hallmarked construction confirms its authenticity and period provenance, a hallmark of serious craftsmanship from an era when Taxco silversmiths were redefining the medium's artistic potential.
