Sig Bergamin "Eclectic"

“Sig’s work is vivacious, seeming to represent the vibrancy of his motherland,” says Ralph Pucci. In his native Brazil, Sig Bergamin is considered a national treasure, but over the past decades, the São Paulo–based designer has expanded his practice and achieved international acclaim. Always finding the perfect balance between tropical and European styles, Sig imagines interiors that blend modern glamour with old-world grandeur. A product of his country’s explosive colors, tastes, creativity, energy, and sensuality, the designer is closely tied to his style: they both overflow with warmth, generosity, humor, and energy. Eclecticism comes naturally to Sig, with every one of his interiors reflecting the personalities of his clients. Whether it is a riot of patterns, colors or layers, his love for travelling, history and geography has nurtured his inspiration for decades. But however varied Sig’s rooms may be, there are constants throughout—all are meticulously proportioned, profuse with great art and beautiful flowers and a panoply of gorgeous colors. Eclectic, creative, and vibrant: each home Sig Bergamin designs is a true celebration of joyful moments. Featuring never-before-seen properties around the world, this new volume—Bergamin’s third with Assouline—on the designer’s work presents more than a dozen homes, including Bergamin’s own. From a New York apartment to an idyllic countryside mansion, Sig Bergamin: Eclectic highlights the designer’s latest projects. With a foreword by Ralph Pucci and an introductory text by James Reginato, this book is testament to Bergamin’s bold and imaginative approach to design.
