About:  Sida acuta (aka common Wireweed) was originally a native plant of Mexico and Central America, but can now be found in many tropical areas around the world. It may be considered an invasive and troublesome weed by some, but this botanical has many qualities and actions. Sida has been shown to increase glutathione levels in the blood, as well as support and protect red blood cells, acting as a blood tonic. This plant contains Cryptolepine, a primary alkaloid. Sida may also support liver function and has been used to address certain bacterial infections. A member of the Malvaceae family, (think hibiscus, okra and mallow) the leaves are decidedly cool and demulcent, as well as tasty!  Recommended Dosage: 30-40 drops OR 1/4 tsp, 3 times per day in juice or water. Children under 12 take half the adult dosage. *Please note our recommended dosage may differ from other sources.
