SHROUD, UPLIGHT, MACRO (ANT BR)

Shroud, Uplight, Macro (Ant Br) is a purpose-built brass accessory crafted with an antique finish to transform macro photography. In close-up work, where every photon matters, this uplight shroud concentrates illumination upward to sculpt shadows, reveal micro textures, and bring out the finest details—from the facets of a gemstone to the delicate hairs on an insect wing. What sets this macro tool apart is its thoughtful finish and build. The antique brass surface delivers a low-glare, color-preserving glow that won’t wash out texture or create harsh reflections. The solid brass construction provides reliable stability under tight working distances, standing up to busy studio sessions and field shoots alike without bending or warping. Designed specifically for macro applications, the shroud’s precise shape directs light up and past the subject, minimizing spill and flare while letting you work closer. That means you can control highlights, sculpt shadows, and accentuate micro-details with repeatable results—every time. Ideal use cases Jewelry photography: emphasize facets, metal textures, and engraving without hotspots or blown highlights. The controlled uplight reveals subtle engravings and lattice work with faithful color rendition. Coins and medallions: capture edge details, patina, and mint marks with clean, directional illumination that enhances engravings and rims. Miniatures and model scenes: bring out fine surface textures, weathering, and tiny components without glare distractions that can dull a shot. Insect and botanical macro: illuminate minute structures while preserving natural tone and texture, from wing veining to micro-fur textures on petals. How it enhances your workflow By shaping light before it reaches the subject, this shroud reduces spill and flare, enabling you to stay at optimal working distances. The result is greater consistency across shots and a more predictable lighting setup for projects that demand precision. The antique brass finish pairs seamlessly with other premium studio gear, helping your rig look as professional in-person as it performs in your images. Care and maintenance To preserve the antique brass patina, wipe the surface with a soft microfiber cloth after use. Avoid harsh solvents and prolonged moisture exposure to maintain the finish and the long-term durability of the brass construction.
