SHOWER FILTER REPLACEMENT Shower Filter Replacement Cartridge Maintain peak filtration performance with a fresh KDF replacement cartridge Designed for the Sante for Health Destroyer shower filter. Compatible with chrome, white, and black versions. Compatibility Note This replacement cartridge fits the current Sante for Health Destroyer shower filter (chrome, white, and black versions). Not compatible with older shower filter models previously carried on this site. 25,000 Gallon Capacity 6-12 Month Lifespan 99% Chlorine Reduction 100% Made in USA What This Replacement Cartridge Reduces Fresh KDF 55 and KDF 85 media restores full filtration performance for chlorine, heavy metals, and other contaminants. Primary Contaminants Chlorine (up to 99% reduction) Chloroform Trihalomethanes Carbon tetrachloride Vinylidene chloride Heavy Metals Lead Mercury Nickel Chromium Iron Arsenic Microorganisms and Odors Algae Fungi Hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) Benzene Other organic odors Why Regular Replacement Matters KDF media becomes saturated over time, reducing filtration effectiveness. A fresh cartridge restores full performance and continued protection. 💧 Maximum Chlorine Reduction Fresh KDF media maintains up to 99% chlorine reduction. Saturated media loses effectiveness gradually, allowing more chlorine to pass through. 🚿 Consistent Flow Rate A clogged or saturated cartridge restricts water flow and reduces shower pressure. Replacing on schedule keeps flow at up to 1.8 GPM. 💆 Continued Skin and Hair Protection Chlorine and heavy metal exposure through shower water contributes to dry skin, scalp irritation, and hair damage. Fresh media maintains protection. ♻️ Sustainable Design Replacing only the cartridge rather than the entire housing reduces waste and long-term cost. KDF media is recyclable. Cartridge Replacement Instructions Takes about 5 minutes. No tools required in most cases. Cartridge Replacement First-Time Installation Replace every: 6-12 months or 25,000 gallons (whichever comes first) Tools required: Wrench (optional) 1 Remove Shower Filter First, remove the shower head from the shower filter by turning counterclockwise. Next, unscrew the shower filter from the shower arm by also turning counterclockwise. This can usually be done by hand, but you may need a wrench if your shower head or filter is on too tight. 2 Swap Filter Cartridges Remove the old filter cartridge and put the new filter cartridge in its place. The mesh screen marks the top of each cartridge. The perforated side is the bottom. Insert it facing downward. 3 Re-Assemble the Filter Attach the shower filter back onto the shower arm and tighten clockwise by hand until secure. Next, reattach your shower head to the bottom of the filter, turning clockwise to tighten. If extra tightening is needed, use a soft cloth to protect the finish and gently secure with a wrench. 4 Flush the Filter After reassembly, run the shower for about 20 seconds to flush out any loose carbon particles. The water may appear slightly gray at first. This is normal. Once clear, your filter is ready to use. Cartridge orientation matters: The mesh screen side goes up. The perforated side goes down. Inserting it backwards will reduce performance. Then attach your shower head to the bottom of the filter. If extra tightening is needed, use a soft cloth to protect the finish while tightening gently with a wrench. 4 Flush the Filter Run water through the filter for about 20 seconds before your first use to flush out any loose carbon particles. The water may appear slightly gray at first. This is normal. Once clear, your filter is ready to use. The water may appear slightly gray during the initial flush. This is normal carbon particulate and clears within 20 seconds. Frequently Asked Questions How often should I replace the cartridge? Replace every 6-12 months or 25,000 gallons, whichever comes first. Actual timing depends on your water quality and daily usage. Higher chlorine levels or heavier use will shorten cartridge life closer to the 6-month end of the range. Is this cartridge compatible with all Sante for Health shower filters? This cartridge fits the current Sante for Health Destroyer shower filter in chrome, white, and black. It is not compatible with older shower filter models previously carried on this site. How do I know the cartridge needs replacing? Replace when you hit 6-12 months or 25,000 gallons. You may also notice the chlorine smell returning in your shower water, a noticeable drop in water pressure or flow rate, or changes in water appearance or quality. What is the correct cartridge orientation? The mesh screen side goes up (toward the shower arm). The perforated side goes down. Inserting it backwards will reduce filtration performance. Why is the water gray after installing a new cartridge? A brief gray tint during the first 20 seconds is normal. It is loose carbon particulate from the fresh media flushing out. Run the shower for 20 seconds before use and the water will run clear. Can I use this cartridge with a handheld shower head? Yes, as long as your shower filter housing connects to a standard 1/2-inch NPT fitting, the cartridge will function the same way regardless of shower head type.
