The short- beaked echidna also known as the spiny anteater, is a mammal that lays eggs. The platypus and the Echidna are the only two living mammals that lay eggs. Echidnas are insectivores and use their long sticky tongue to lap up insects. They are native to Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea. The Echidna is very timid and when they feel threatened, they dig themselves into a hole or if they are exposed, they will curl into a ball and use their spines as a defense. Specification: Sold individually The photo shown is an example of what your specimen will approximately look like. Each quill is unique and will vary slightly in size, shape, color, etc.
