The ancients believed diamonds were thunderbolts that became lodged into the earth. Only a thunderbolt could cut into glass and other metals, thus the diamond became the Queen of the gems. Diamonds have been thought to offer access to divine energies, stimulating and opening all the chakras; they promote truth, vision and alignment. Rosecut Diamonds originated in the 16th Century, and are common to older antique jewelry. They feature a flat bottom and domed crown, with triangular cuts emanating from the center. To clean, gently rub with a polish cloth or for best results, soak in a sonic cleaner. Enjoy your treasure!
