Originally published in 1984 under the title The Shishapangma Expedition, thgis book was one of the two original winners of the prestigious Boardman-Tasker Award for Mountain Literature. This is a reprint from 2000, mostly identical to the early editions but with some new color photographs, expanded maps and updated charts/reference regarding new expeditions to this 8000-meter peak. 321 pages, b&w photographs throughout and a small insert of color photos at the back.
