Shimano OCEA 17+ Braided Line

Prepare to push your offshore casting setup further with Shimano OCEA 17+ Braided Line. Developed specifically for demanding offshore applications, OCEA 17+ uses an innovative 17-strand construction to deliver exceptional linear strength along with the smooth casting characteristics needed when targeting powerful fish with heavy spinning tackle. Shimano specifically designed it to exceed the linear strength of OCEA 8 while providing a refined feel as the line travels through the guides. Unique 17-Strand Construction The defining feature of OCEA 17+ is its 16+1 structure. Sixteen braided strands form the outer sheath around a single core strand running through the center. According to Shimano, this internal core helps prevent the braid from deforming when twisted and allows the line to better maintain its strength, creating an exceptionally robust construction for demanding offshore fishing. Smooth Surface for Exceptional Casting The tightly woven 16-strand exterior creates an exceptionally smooth surface, which Shimano enhances further with an additional coating. That smooth profile is designed to flow efficiently through the rod guides, producing the clean casting feel and performance needed when repeatedly throwing poppers, stickbaits, and other offshore lures at feeding fish. High-Strength IZANAS® Fiber OCEA 17+ is manufactured using Toyobo's IZANAS® ultra-high-strength polyethylene fiber, including the new SF700 grade. Shimano selected this advanced material to deliver tremendous strength while retaining the characteristics required from a premium PE fishing line. The result is braid engineered around the extreme loads encountered during offshore casting and big-game fights. HEATSINKCOATING for Demanding Fights Shimano adds its HEATSINKCOATING technology, a special silicone-resin coating with excellent heat resistance and low thermal conductivity. The coating also improves slipperiness, complementing the naturally smooth multi-strand construction and further refining the line's performance through the guides. Built for Offshore Anglers Who Push Their Tackle Developed by Shimano as part of its premium OCEA lineup, OCEA 17+ Braided Line combines advanced 17-strand construction, IZANAS® fibers, exceptional linear strength, and an ultra-smooth coated surface into a braid purpose-built for serious offshore fishing. For anglers casting heavy lures at powerful gamefish and demanding maximum performance from every part of their tackle, OCEA 17+ represents an impressive step forward in PE line technology.
