Shimano Curado 70 MGL K Casting Reels

Overview The Shimano Curado 70 MGL K Casting Reels are built for anglers who want a compact, lightweight baitcaster that delivers easy casting, refined control, and proven Shimano durability. Small in hand but big on performance, the Curado 70 MGL K is designed for anglers who fish lighter lures, tighter targets, and presentations where effortless spool startup and casting precision matter. Whether you are working compact hard baits, finesse-style moving baits, or pitching into close cover, this reel is made to feel smooth, responsive, and easy to fish all day. What makes the Shimano Curado 70 MGL K stand out is its MagnumLite Spool design. Shimano built the MGL Spool to reduce startup inertia, which means the spool begins turning more easily and requires less effort to cast lighter baits. That gives anglers better control, smoother casting, and improved performance with lure weights that can be more difficult to fish on a standard baitcaster. For anglers who want a reel that handles lighter baits without sacrificing the feel of a true low-profile casting reel, the Curado 70 MGL K fills that role extremely well. The frame and internals are also built for long-term dependability. Shimano pairs the reel with a rigid HAGANE Body to reduce flex and keep the gears aligned under load, while Cross Carbon Drag provides smooth stopping power when a fish surges at close range or under cover. Shimano also includes Super Free Spool technology to reduce friction during the cast, helping improve overall casting efficiency and reinforcing the reel’s lightweight, easy-casting personality. Together, those features give the Curado 70 MGL K the kind of refined yet durable feel that serious bass anglers expect from the Curado family. The Shimano Curado 70 MGL K Casting Reels are a strong choice for anglers who want a premium compact baitcaster for lighter lure applications, accurate presentations, and all-day comfort. It is especially appealing for anglers who want the ease of a lightweight reel without giving up frame strength, drag performance, or overall Shimano refinement. If you are looking for a low-profile casting reel that excels with lighter baits and still carries the trusted Curado name, the Curado 70 MGL K is an excellent option.
