Shepherd's Notes: Philippians, Colossians, Philemon

Philippians is one of Paul's most personal letters revealing his personal history and his deep affection for a church that loved him. He also calls his readers to an examination of the mind of Christ. Colossians contains distinctive teachings about the person and work of Christ, Christian living and relationships, and Paul's conception of his ministry. The centrality of Christ is predominant in this letter. Philemon is addressed to Philemon and through prayer, commendation, and an appeal to love, Paul pleads with him to accept Onesimus, a runaway slave, back as a fellow Christian.
