Shenandoah Switch Grass

Steal the Show With Shenandoah Switch Grass Bring bold color and movement to the landscape with Shenandoah Switch Grass, one of the most eye-catching ornamental grasses you can grow. Fresh green blades emerge in spring brushed with deep red tips, intensifying through summer before turning a rich burgundy-red in fall. Airy reddish-pink flower plumes float above the foliage in summer, adding soft texture and motion to garden beds and borders. Fast growing and easy to care for, Shenandoah Switch Grass thrives in heat, handles coastal conditions, and helps control erosion on slopes or difficult planting areas. Its upright habit makes it perfect for mass plantings, background borders, privacy screens, or adding height and drama to large containers. Birds appreciate the shelter and seasonal seed heads, while deer tend to leave it alone.
