Shellback Craw – Crawfish Fly

The Shellback Craw is a compact crawfish pattern built for fish that stay tight to structure, banks, grass edges, and rocky bottom. Tied on a Daiichi 1270 hook, this fly features a natural brown crawfish profile with subtle movement from the tail, legs, and feather accents. The shellback-style body creates a realistic crustacean silhouette without adding unnecessary bulk, keeping the fly easy to cast and effective in a wide range of water conditions. This is a true confidence pattern when fish are keyed in on crawfish. It fishes just as well as a general bottom-oriented attractor for bass, trout, carp, and other warmwater species. Strip it, crawl it, hop it, or dead drift it—this fly adapts to how fish are feeding. Offered in #2 and #6, the Shellback Craw gives you both a larger profile for aggressive fish and a smaller option for pressured water or more technical situations.
