For more details on the Amish Handcrafted Process, check out the steps on our About Us page. About Us Origin of Shaker Chests During the late 1700’s, there was a charismatic group of people who left the Quaker group. This group became known as the “Shakers” because of their ecstatic nature of worship. The Shakers stressed beliefs of simplicity, quality, and efficiency, and it showed in their furniture style. The furniture they produced was designed with straight lines, straight-forward technique, and an overall modest appearance. Although the shaker style originated hundreds of years ago, shaker furniture blends well in modern and contemporary homes today. Our wooden chests carry those simple Shaker style qualities with their raised panel construction on all four sides. Shaker Chest Uses Great for Storage Like all of our trunks, this shaker chest is mainly used as a place to store your extra things. We all have those few extras belongings that do not have a specific place to call home. A nice simple chest is the perfect place to throw all those odds and ends when you have guests at your house. Or you can place it in your bedroom and use it to store extra blankets, bedding, or extra clothes. No matter where you put this chest, it will keep your belongings safe and keep your house free of clutter! Coffee Table/End Table             This shaker chest is also the perfect thing to use as a coffee table or end table. With its finished 4 sides, you can place it in the middle of your living room, and it will look great! Or place it next to some of your couches and use it as an end table. Every living room needs a coffee table to hold drinks, magazines, or your special seasonal decorations. With our simple, modern shaker style chest, you can store your valuables, display your favorite décor, and add beauty to your living room all year long. Or, if you are looking for a more rustic, vintage style coffee table, check out our flat topped steamer trunks. Shaker Chest Wood Types             Our handcrafted shaker chests are available in several different types of wood. Whether you choose cherry, oak, or maple, all of our shaker trunks come standard with a cedar bottom.  With our options of a 2 panel or 3 panel shaker chest, you will be able to find the perfect size that works for you. You will love the simple, modern look that this shaker style wooden chest brings to your home no matter where you place it! Shaker Style Wooden Chest Features Raised Panel Design             One of the greatest features of our wooden shaker chest is the raised panel construction that is finished on all four sides. Since all four sides of these chests are finished, you can place this chest anywhere in your house, and it will look fantastic. Add beauty to your living room with a handcrafted wooden shaker chest. Sliding Cedar Tray Like a lot of our other chests, you can order our shaker chest with a sliding cedar tray. A cedar sliding tray is specifically designed to fit just inside the lid of your shaker chest. This way you do not have to worry about your smaller valuables getting lost in the depths of the chest. Customizable Name Plate Also, our shaker chests are available with a customizable engraved name plate. With a name plate, you can make your shaker chest unique and more personal. When you give your friend or relative a shaker chest, you can include a special engraved note that will be placed inside the lid of the chest. Preview in new tab(opens in a new tab)
