Big Cigs Side Table

Big cigs were designed as a response to cigarette butts being left on the beach, standing upright in the sand like tiny tables wondering if litter would be as easy to ignore if it were huge? After creating these pieces, returning to the beach and monitor the response. Litter appears impossible to ignore if it is 15x bigger and becomes a conversation piece. No two are the same, each is hand carved and painted, water resistant microconcrete coated butts can be used as side tables, stools, plant stands, etc. About The Artist Ashley J MacDonald a Cayuga and Austrian artist/designer and the Founder of Skyhouse Furniture, an Indigenous and woman owned contemporary indigenous design studio based in the Niagara Region where she grew up.
