Sgabello Basso Stackable Stool by Zeus Noto

The Sgabello Basso Stackable Stool by Zeus Noto, designed by Maurizio Peregalli in 1984, epitomizes the brand’s commitment to industrial minimalism. Its skeletal frame is formed from 15 × 15 mm square‑section steel tubing, expertly hand‑welded and finished in a matte‑textured epoxy that underscores every crisp intersection and angle. Ingeniously designed to nest within itself, the low‑profile silhouette allows for efficient stacking, making it equally at home in both compact residential settings and bustling contract environments. Despite its austere steel construction, the Sgabello Basso offers a surprisingly tactile and customizable seating experience. The standard seat is molded from Zeus’s signature “thousand‑points” textured rubber, providing subtle ergonomic give and a sculptural surface pattern.  Black extruded rubber sleeves on the edges further soften contact points, delivering a harmonious balance between industrial rigor and thoughtful user comfort.
