Seventy: Renzo Rosso

Renzo Rosso has never followed the rules—he much prefers to break them. From the start, his vision was clear: Fashion should be bold, unexpected, and exciting. With Diesel, launched in 1978, Rosso transformed denim from utility to attitude, pioneering a style that fused rebellion with craftsmanship. With provocative campaigns that shocked and jeans that defined a generation, Rosso turned denim into a statement. But he didn’t stop there. Through OTB—“Only the Brave”—he built a family of disruptive, visionary brands, including Maison Margiela, Marni, Viktor&Rolf, and Jil Sander. Through the pages of Seventy, OTB is revealed as more than a fashion group; it’s a home for rule-breakers, risk-takers, and original voices. Rosso extends these principles beyond the fashion world, influencing his dedication to sustainability, charitable causes, health and wellness, and his friends and family. Each endeavor reflects his belief that style is not just what you wear but a mindset—audacious, cutting-edge, and fearless. To commemorate his seventieth birthday, this fashion coffee table book explores seventy impactful moments—Diesel anniversaries, Marni fashion shows, hospitality investments, and his love for Venice, to name a few—illustrating how Renzo Rosso is not just shaping what the world looks like but how it thinks. With insights from Rosso himself, the milestones become more than dates on a calendar or iconic campaigns. They become something with a soul—seventy things that have formed this living legend.
