The symbolism of the Setting Sun between the Headlands holds special significance for AKL and occupies a prominent place on our crest. The 11 rays represent our 11 Founding Fathers, while the Headlands remind us of our beginnings on the West Coast at Berkeley and symbolize a fraternity that now spans coast to coast. The image of the setting sun also reflects a moment of transition—the end of one phase of Fraternity, the Los Amigos Club, and the birth of our new Fraternity. Here’s to honoring our beginnings and celebrating the brotherhood that carries forward today—cheers to AKL.
