Serviceberry

Certain ornamental trees are known for their colorful flowers and small stature and can provide a beautiful display of color in the spring and early summer. The Autumn Brilliance serviceberry, flowering crabapples, pears, and hawthorns, and Japanese tree lilac are all examples of trees that can contribute to a “parade of color.” It’s important to choose the right trees for your location, considering factors such as sun exposure and soil moisture. Using a combination of evergreens and ornamentals can provide both immediate and long-term screening and adding shade-loving perennials can help to soften the look of large mulch areas. It’s also important to remember to properly care for these trees, including providing adequate sunlight and avoiding overly wet or dry conditions.
