If you’ve struggled with the white residue from zinc oxide in other formulas, this is a game-changer. Clean, simple ingredients you can trust: organic coconut oil, organic unrefined shea butter, magnesium hydroxide, organic arrowroot powder, zinc ricinoleate, kaolin clay, organic jojoba oil, lactobacillus ferment Note: Unrefined shea butter naturally has a smoky scent that can vary from batch to batch. Why this formula is different: Sensitive Clear is an entirely new zinc ricinoleate deodorant formula built around zinc ricinoleate, a powerful odor absorber we’ve never offered before. This unique ingredient works differently than magnesium hydroxide or baking soda, which means that even long-time Island Deodorant customers are likely to experience this one differently.   In tester trials, 80% of people experienced little to no odor throughout the day. 64% reported no odor at all, while another 16% noticed only a slight odor by evening. Sensitive Clear’s odor protection comes from zinc ricinoleate, a powerful ingredient that works differently than baking soda or magnesium alone. Many people specifically look for deodorant with zinc ricinoleate because it traps odor molecules without blocking sweat. Helpful Tips • Because this deodorant cream is made with natural oils and butters, it can soften in warmer temperatures and firm up in cooler ones. This is completely normal and doesn’t affect how well it works. • If your deodorant cream looks grainy or has little balls of shea butter, that’s a normal response to temperature changes (often from shipping). It’s perfectly fine to use as-is — just rub it between your hands or apply it to warm skin and the texture will smooth out. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can gently remelt it, stir well, and refrigerate to cool quickly. • Unrefined shea butter is traditionally processed over open fires, which gives it a naturally smoky scent. The strength of this scent varies from batch to batch and is a normal characteristic of unrefined shea. Are you new to natural deodorant? If you’re switching from conventional deodorant or antiperspirant, your body may go through a short adjustment period as it adapts to aluminum-free deodorant. Some people notice no issues at all, while others may experience temporary changes in odor as their body chemistry balances out. This adjustment phase looks different for everyone and usually resolves on its own. Frequently Asked Questions Q: What makes this formula different from your other deodorants? A: Sensitive Clear introduces zinc ricinoleate in deodorant, a unique odor absorber we’ve never offered before. It works differently from baking soda or magnesium hydroxide, giving it a distinct feel and performance. Even long-time Island Deodorant customers noticed the difference during testing. Q: How effective is this deodorant cream? A: In our tester survey, the majority of users said it kept them fresh all day — with 76% reporting little to no odor after a full day and many saying it lasted even longer. Q: Is this deodorant cream safe for sensitive skin? A: 92% of testers reported no irritation at all, making it a great choice for sensitive skin. Q: How long does it last? A: 76% said it lasted all day or longer, with some reporting up to 48 hours of odor protection. 80% of testers experienced little to no odor throughout the day.  This is thanks to zinc ricinoleate — a powerful odor absorber that works differently than baking soda or magnesium alone. Q: Why is my deodorant cream grainy? Graininess can occur when the shea butter cools slowly due to temperature changes, often during shipping. It’s normal and perfectly safe to use. The texture will smooth out as it warms against your skin, or you can gently remelt and stir it if you prefer. Q: What’s the difference between zinc oxide and zinc ricinoleate in deodorant formulas? Both are zinc-based ingredients used in natural deodorants, but they work a bit differently. Zinc oxide helps control odor by creating an environment that’s less friendly to odor-causing bacteria while also soothing and protecting sensitive skin. Because of its natural color, it goes on white. Zinc ricinoleate focuses specifically on odor control by binding to and trapping odor molecules rather than killing bacteria, and it goes on clear.
