Señora Sanasana

Step Into a Magical World of Rhythm, Healing, and Heart. A joyful, bilingual adventure full of music, magic, and childhood nostalgia! Written in playful English-Spanglish (with a handy glossary included), Señora Sanasana brings to life a charming and whimsical tale inspired by a beloved Spanish-language nursery rhyme. From the very first refrain—“Sanasana colita de rana”—readers are swept into a rhythmic, sing-song world that feels both familiar and brand new. At the heart of the story is Señora Sanasana herself: a fashionable, kind-hearted Peruvian elder who feels as magical as the world around her. Living in a vibrant high-rise apartment building filled with multicultural families, she becomes a gentle guide and healer for her neighbors, helping children and families navigate everyday ups and downs with care, creativity, and a touch of wonder. By her side is her equally delightful llama companion, Llamita, adding even more charm to her fantastical world. Her apartment isn’t just a home—it’s a safe, enchanted space where community comes together to play, learn, and grow. Along the way, readers meet a colorful cast of neighbors, each with their own quirky challenges, all lovingly supported by Señora Sanasana’s imaginative remedies and warmth. Written in upbeat, lyrical verse by father-daughter duo Ashlee Campbell and Duncan Campbell, and brought to life with vibrant illustrations by April Evelyn Cooper, this story celebrates the musicality of language and the beauty of cultural connection. Sprinkled with Spanish words, Peruvian references, and joyful rhythm, every page feels like a song you can almost dance to.Whether you grew up with the original nursery rhyme or are discovering it for the first time, Señora Sanasana is a heartwarming celebration of language, community, and care that will leave readers smiling long after the final page.
