Description Light/Soil/Water Hardiness Sempervivum heuffelii Irene is a compact, cold hardy succulent known for its tightly layered rosettes with rich tones of green accented by deep red to burgundy highlights. The thick, pointed leaves form a structured, geometric shape, and the color becomes more intense with strong sunlight and cooler temperatures. As it matures, this variety forms dense clumps rather than spreading by runners, resulting in a tidy and structured growth habit. It grows steadily and maintains its vibrant coloration throughout the seasons. During the blooming cycle, mature rosettes may produce flower stalks before completing their life cycle, while new offsets continue to develop from the base. Full Sun. Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot. Zone 4-10
