Achieve clean, precise cuts with a versatile semi-flush finish using the Pepetools Semi-Flush Side Cutters, model PLA95R. Expertly crafted in Italy, these cutters are an essential tool for jewelers, beaders, and crafters who require a balance of durability and a relatively smooth cut on various wires and soft metals. These semi-flush side cutters feature sharp, precision-ground blades that leave a nearly flat surface on one side of the cut and a slight "pinch" on the other. This makes them ideal for a wide range of applications, providing a cleaner finish than standard diagonal cutters without the delicate nature of full-flush cutters. The ergonomic blue handles offer a comfortable and secure grip, reducing hand fatigue during prolonged use, while the robust construction ensures long-lasting performance. Key Features: Semi-Flush Cut (PLA95R): Provides a clean, nearly flat cut on one side, making them versatile for various finishing needs. Sharp, Durable Blades: Precision-ground cutting edges ensure efficient and reliable cuts. Italian Craftsmanship: Manufactured in Italy, guaranteeing superior quality and meticulous design. Comfort Grip Handles: Ergonomic blue handles provide a secure and comfortable hold for extended use. Versatile Application: Ideal for cutting headpins, eye pins, jump rings, wire for chainmaille, and general wire work in jewelry, beading, and crafts. Maximum Cutting Specifications Chart Material Max Wire Diameter Notes Soft Yellow Gold 1.0 mm Suitable for soft yellow gold wire up to this diameter, assuming typical malleability. Sterling Silver 0.9 mm Sterling silver is harder than yellow gold; a slightly smaller maximum is recommended for clean cuts and tool longevity. Copper 1.1 mm Copper is typically softer than sterling silver, allowing for a slightly larger maximum diameter. Brass 0.9 mm Similar hardness to sterling silver, requires a similar maximum cutting capacity. Aluminum 1.2 mm Very soft metal, generally allows for larger diameters to be cut more easily. Important Considerations for Cutters: Hardness Varies: The actual maximum cutting capacity is highly dependent on the temper (hardness) of the wire. Dead soft wire will be easier to cut than half-hard or full-hard wire of the same diameter. Material Composition: Different alloys of gold, silver, copper, brass, and aluminum can have varying hardnesses. Wire Form: The chart assumes round wire. Cutting square or rectangular wire with the same cross-sectional area may be more difficult or exceed the tool's capacity. Blade Care: Always cut perpendicular to the wire. Twisting or bending the wire while cutting can damage the blades. Avoid cutting hardened steel wire, memory wire, or very thick materials that are beyond the tool's intended capacity, as this will dull or chip the blades. Safety First: Always wear appropriate eye protection when cutting wire to prevent injury from flying debris.
