Self-Care: Nurturing Myself ~ Subliminal

Self-Care: Nurturing Myself — Many people today fail to recognize how important it is to believe in themselves. As a result, they take little time truly nurturing themselves. Oh, one may buy new clothes, get their hair done, soak in a bubble bath, and so forth, all cosmetic approaches to bolstering self-esteem—but this is not nurturing oneself. We must first learn to love ourselves!  Failure to nurture yourself can lead to burnout, fatigue, depression, unhappiness, undefined anxiety, and more. Obviously nurturing yourself should be a priority in all of our lives. To nurture oneself we must first learn to love ourselves. We need to recognize ourselves as the unique creation that we are. We must choose to love our bodies as well as our minds and spirit. We need to learn to be alone and enjoy our own company. Indeed, solitude is helpful in rediscovering our own independence and finding joy in who we are. Taking time for ourselves is critical to our overall wellbeing. As Parker Palmer put it, "Self-care is never a selfish act—it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others. Anytime we can listen to true self and give the care it requires, we do it not only for ourselves, but for the many others whose lives we touch." Choose to prioritize yourself and awaken your unique strengths and abilities. Acknowledge your own worth, validate your specialness, and enliven compassion for yourself—that is how you nurture yourself at the most meaningful level. All of this begins in the mind. InnerTalk is especially designed to reengineer the way you talk to yourself—the view you hold of yourself. When you're ready for genuine self-care, begin here.
