Self-Advocacy + Disability Awareness Workbook

This Self-Advocacy + Disability Workbook is a resource for your students to learn more about their disability and self-advocacy. The main audience for this workbook are high school students. The workbook has reading passages on topics from self-determination, self-advocacy, rights and responsibilities, with opportunities for the student to apply it to their lives. The main goal of this resource is to support students in developing their self-awareness of their disability and inform them about self-advocacy. This resource is helpful for any amount of time you have to go over self-advocacy and disability awareness with your students. We also designed this so a student could potentially work on it by themselves as a homework assignment or at-home project. Ideas for use: warm-up, morning meeting, transition activity, early finisher, small group, 1:1, whole class, and of course, reading comprehension + literacy lessons, homework packet.
