SEGMENTAL BODY COMPOSITION SOFTWARE LICENSE

RJL Systems’ Segmental Body Composition Software, when paired with the Quantum V Segmental BIA analyzer, delivers a new level of precision by providing quantitative regional body composition assessments comparable to those of Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) scans—without the cost, radiation, or immobility. Using eight electrodes (applied to both hands and feet) and a 12-channel multiplexer, this system measures resistance and reactance across 13 body regions in under 20 seconds. The result: a detailed, segmental analysis of fat mass and lean soft tissue (LST) for each arm, leg, and torso—upper and lower—while maintaining the accuracy that ensures the sum of regional values equals the whole-body composition, similar to DXA. This level of detail is essential for healthcare professionals and specialists such as physicians, physical therapists, sports medicine experts, and nutritionists who monitor muscle atrophy, hypertrophy, or regional asymmetries. The software enables the tracking of changes over time, helping practitioners evaluate progress, optimize training or rehab protocols, and personalize nutrition and fitness plans. A patented advantage: The total lean or fat mass from individual segments equals the whole-body measurement—mirroring the structure of DXA assessments, but with speed, portability, and greater accessibility. Unlock regional precision and smarter interventions with RJL’s Segmental Body Composition Software—engineered for professionals who demand diagnostic-level detail without compromise. POPULATION EQUATION OPTIONS NHANES-III (General Population) This equation set is appropriate for general populations, and the Fat, FFM, and TBW formulas have been validated with data from the NHANES-III study New Pediatric ( Ages 4 – 19 ) (Also validated for obese children) Mexican Adults ( Male & Female ) Native Americans Obese ( BMI > 30 ) African American ( Obese ) Athletic HIV BIA-103 ( Provided for historical purposes only ) All Body Types (BMI adjustable) SOFTWARE FEATURES Provides segmental analysis of arms, legs, upper/lower torso Measures 13 unique body regions in less than 20 seconds High-resolution resistance/reactance data (accurate to 0.1 ohms) Enables tracking of regional muscle wasting or development over time Visual and numeric reports show imbalances or changes by segment Ideal for clinicians, PTs, athletic trainers, and wellness professionals Seamless integration with Quantum V Segmental BIA devices Estimates body composition and other values: Fat, Total Body Water (TBW), Phase Angle, Fat Free Mass (FFM), Intracellular Water (ICW), Extra Cellular Water (ECW), Impedance, Daily Energy Expenditure (DEE), Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), and Body Mass Index (BMI) SOFTWARE SAMPLE REPORT Please note: This software is specific to the Segmental Quantum-V Analyzer.
