Seeds, by Salem Avery

Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features. Seeds is a chapbook that refuses to be silent. The poems speak the lives of those pushed to the margins, minorities, children, lovers and communities just trying to survive under those that view expression as danger. The collection is both a witness and a warning, a record of what happens when love is legislated and lives are politicized. Salem Avery writes poetry based in the complexities of identity, self-acceptance, and resilience, offering readers a space to feel seen in their own journeys. Driven by honesty and heart, their writing transforms pain into connection and silence into voice. They write with the belief that stories and songs, especially those born from survival, can be lifelines.
